Be careful what you say, and how you say it …
August 7th, 2008 by adminGod’s Word is so awesome. If we are willing to abide in His Word, and obey in simple humility out of love for what Jesus has done for us by going to the cross, God would bless us.
Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”
Most of us spend our days talking and interacting with all kinds of people. Since we represent Christ in everything we do, our responses should be “Christlike” in every situation, regardless of the circumstances. Proper responses are essential as the Bible warns us how much destruction can be caused by not controlling our speech:
James 3:5 “Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
There are also practical benefits to delivering proper responses:
Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Proverbs 25:23 “. . . .a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.”
So next time think before you speak!
